Lakeland Community Care Ltd is a company limited by guarantee
but also a registered charity providing health and social care in rural
Fermanagh. It was originally formed in November 1994 and based in
Belcoo Enterprise building by representatives from the four communities
of Belcoo, Derrygonnelly, Garrison and Teemore. It is significant that it is
the only charitable agency delivering care in county Fermanagh.
For a short period the company moved to the more central location of Enniskillen, taking office on East Bridge Street. However space was limited as the company wanted to develop their training capabilities. It was decided to move back in October 2002 to the Belcoo Enterprise Centre. In some respects moving back was taking it back to its roots and the communities it serves.
Our aim is to provide the quality of life for all residents within the area that we serve but particularly older people and those with physical disabilities.
Our charitable objectives consist of the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare and the promotion of health. Our services are intended to assist people to live independently in their own homes with dignity and respect.
Main Activities
- Provision of day care through our 5 day care centres situated in Belcoo, Derrygonnelly, Garrison, Teemore and Newtownbutler
- Domiciliary care which includes personal care and household tasks
- In house training supervised by our fully qualified trainers
- Associated carer support, ie. laundry service, information, meals service, health promotion initiative
