Carer Training

To ensure the highest confidence in our carers all staff go through an interview procedure carried out by the office team, an enhanced vetting process and previous employment references are obtained. Successful candidates then go through an intensive induction which covers all mandatory training recommended by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.

  • Manual Handling

  • Stoma and Catheter Care

  • Effective communication

  • Palliative Care

  • Health and Safety

  • Challenging Behaviour

  • Abuse of vulnerable adults and children

  • Medication

  • Basic Food Hygiene

  • First Aid

  • Skin Care

  • Recording and Reporting

  • Fire Safety

  • Managing Service User Money

As well as our standard training requirements some carers are specialised in certain fields in order to accommodate clients with specific needs. These include:

  • Peg Feeding

  • Diabetes

  • Dementia
