Lakeland Community Care holds Fitness Classes in the Healthy living Centre, 1 Lattone Road, Belcoo. Lakeland Community Care offer YOGA, Older Peoples Chair based Exercise and Outdoor Keep Fit Programmes. Lakeland Community Care recognise there are differences in how often certain groups of people within the population participate in sport. A physically active lifestyle is also good for keeping an active social life. As we get older we tend to participate less in sport than as younger adults. As an older adult taking part in sport helps keep you fit and healthy – both physically and mentally. As you get older keeping active will, amongst other health related things, help you with your heart health and keep your blood pressure in check.

Caroline fit4life Green

Caroline fit4life Greene is a fitness instructor facilitating all sorts of programmes from strength and conditioning to fat loss programmes.

Classes include:

  • Strength class

  • Full body workout

  • Kettlebells class

  • Body weight workout

  • Cardio Blast

  • Circuit Training

When: Every Tuesday 7:30pm - 8:30pm (at Belcoo Healthy Living Centre)

Yoga Classes (SWAP)

Yoga is a systematic practice of physical exercise, breath control, relaxation, diet control, and positive thinking and meditation aimed at developing harmony in the body, mind, and environment.

If you practice yoga, you may receive these benefits:

  • Physical, Mental and Spiritual:

  • Improved body flexibility and balance

  • Improved cardiovascular endurance (stronger heart)

  • Improved digestion

  • Relief of stress resulting from the control of emotions

  • Prevention and relief from stress-related disorders

Chair based Exercises

Exercises include:

  • Seated Row - help to work the upper back and chest muscles 

  • Seated Tummy Twist - designed to work the core muscles

  • Overhead Arm Raises 

  • Hand Squeezes

  • Inner Thigh Squeeze 

  • Knee Lifts

  • Knee Extensions
